Statement of Faith
Our statement of faith is clear and comprehensive, outlining the fundamental beliefs of Eglise des Messagers de la Nouvelle Jerusalem:
1. Inspiration and Authority of the Bible: Belief in the Bible as the inspired Word of God and the ultimate authority in matters of faith, doctrine and Christian living. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21
2. Trinity: Belief in the triune nature of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. John 17:3; Revelation 4:11
3. Virgin Birth, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ: Belief in the deity of Jesus Christ, His sacrificial death for humanity's sins, and His resurrection and ascension. John 1:1; Hebrew 1:3, 8; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Matthew 1:18; Hebrew 9:24.
4. Humanity's Fall and Redemption: Belief in the fallen state of humanity and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12; Titus 3:3-7
5. Salvation by Grace through Faith: Belief in salvation as a free gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
6. Regenerated Church Membership: Belief in a church membership composed of individuals who have personally accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. Acts 2.
7. Work of the Holy Spirit: Belief in the Holy Spirit's presence, comfort, and empowerment in the lives of believers.
8. Manifestations of the Holy Spirit: Belief in spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.
9. Divine Healing and Laying of Hands: Belief in divine healing and the practice of laying on of hands for prayer.
10. Praise and Worship: Emphasis on praise and worship as integral aspects of Christian life.

15. Sacredness of Marriage: Belief in the sacredness of marriage as instituted by God. Hebrews 13:4.
16. Traditional View of Marriage: Belief in marriage as between one man and one woman. Genesis 2:24; I Corinthians 7:2-16; Ephesians 5:23-33.
17. Stance on Same-Sex Marriage: We do not believe in same sex marriages based on biblical teachings regarding homosexuality Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; I Corinthians 6:9
